First Snow

I really need to get better at writing on here. Kadyn had tubes put in her ears on July 9th and she hasn’t had an ear infection since. It has been so nice. She seems to be happier and it seems was talking more instantly. We also have some exciting news!! We are due with Baby #2 in early January, (hoping for Dec J) We found out 2 weeks ago we have a boy on the way! Baby is due the week Kadyn turns 2 so they should be almost exactly 2 years apart. It will be nice the have a little on in the house again. Kadyn is getting so big and is so much fun. Since Dan is the only boy this is the chance for the Nelson name to be carried on in his family. Now to choose a first name.
Kadyn loves singing and dancing, having her nails painted (purple) and puzzles are her new favorite thing to do. She has been pointing to my belly and saying “Baby mama belly”. If you ask her how old she is she says One and holds up her finger. Sometimes she also go ah ah ah after the one just like the count on sesame street. Such a character.

Kadyn had a big day yesterday on Dan’s 30th birthday. She went potty on the potty chair for the first time!! Wahoo! We had just got back from going out to dinner and we had borrowed the chair from Carm and put it in the bathroom, put her on it as we waiting for her tub to be ready and she got up and she had peed. All in about 3 minutes. Now I am pretty sure we were just lucky on that one but what a big girl.

She is on another antibiotic for another ear infection. We have to bring her back for a recheck when she is done with her meds and if either the infection isn’t gone or if she gets another one soon we may be looking at tubes. Her doctor said she is on the border line of getting them with this last one and one more would put her over. Hopefully she starts feeling better soon.

We had a fun Surprise party for Dan up in Duluth this past weekend. He really enjoyed seeing some of his buddies and his family. Dan had thrown me a party March 28th at Dave and Busters. We had a lot of fun playing games and I was totally surprised.

Kadyn is working on going down steps. She is getting better. I think I just get so nervous watching her.

Dan started working again last Friday!! We are in the process of interviewing daycares. Until then Dan’s sister Dory is watching Kadyn for us. We have another meeting tonight and I am hopeful we will like this one. I know she will like being around other kids her age.

Kadyn pic 1 yr Birthday Party

So much going on!

It has been quite a while since I have blogged. Kadyn is running now instead of walking. She loves to be chased. Kadyn had a great Christmas. We celebrated with the Kneelands the weekend before and then were in Cloquet Christmas eve and Christmas day. She got so many fun gifts. She received a ball pit that she really likes to play with and grandma and Papa got her a kitchen set. She likes to play with the dishes and open and close the oven and other doors on her play kitchen. She is talking more and says daddy instead of dada. That is new this past week. She also thinks anytime I am on the phone I am talking to Grandma or Papa. If she sees me on the phone she stands next to me and says Grandma Papa. She is still really really into Dora and Elmo. If you ask her where Dora is she will look at her shirt to see if she is wearing anything with Dora on that day. She likes to play with her baby dolls and feeds them a bottle. She is quite the little kisser too and kisses her dolls and mom and dad. We are working on blowing kisses and she is getting better at that. Sometimes she just makes kissing noises.
She is such a good eater. The only thing she has refused to eat is peas. Other then that there isn’t a food she won’t eat. She loves her veggies and pasta. She ate chicken last night and ate a good amount of that. Her favorite snack is Nilla wafers. The only thing is she stuffs the whole thing in her mouth and then chews it.
We had so much fun at her 1st birthday party and received so many wonderful presents. It was really nice to see her play with other kids since she rarely gets to play with people her size. We were able to visit with the Ogrens and Kadyn was able to play with Julia. Again so nice for her to see kids her age.
She is having a sleep over this weekend at Grandma and Papa’s house so we can go to a birthday party for one of Dan’s friends in Cloquet.

I have had some changes at work and in January had a pay cut and now starting in Feb I will only be working 32hour weeks. Hopefully it won’t be long term since Dan is still laid off.

Other then that things are going really well.
I will write again soon and post some pictures.

Getting ready to Walk!!

Yesterday Dec 2nd Kadyn took 3 steps. We were practicing and having her walk back and forth between Dan and I. She takes 3 steps then lunges for one of us. I can't believe how fast she is growing. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home for the first time. She is such a happy little girl. I can’t believe she is 11 months old today. This year has gone by so fast. We had a really good Thanksgiving with the Kneelands this year. We drove to my parents house on Wednesday after I got done working and spent Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at their house. We went to Mike and Heather’s house this year for dinner and it was so tasty! Kadyn liked playing with all Ella’s toys. Then back to Mom and Dad’s house. Dan and I got to go to see Four Christmas’ on Friday night and it was pretty good.
We plan to celebrate Christmas with the Kneeland side on Dec 20th this year and then will spend Christmas day with the Nelsons up in Cloquet. Maybe by the time Christmas comes around Kadyn will be walking if not running!!

More Teeth

Kadyn is working on some more teeth. Only thing is she has her bottom front 2 teeth and now she is getting the two top teeth that are on the side of her two front teeth. She is missing her two front teeth. Won't that look funny!

Other then that we are pretty much getting settled back into the Shakopee house. Dan was laid off about a month ago so he has been home with Kadyn. She is on a schedule but still not sleeping in her crib. We have to work on that. That is a goal in the next month.
